Let's travel light years back to the end of January when we transformed our classroom into a super-galactic Space adventure! This celebration was the culmination of our Non Fiction Planet Research for all of Walden to enjoy! After careful text and online research, nonfiction writing, poster assembly and clay model building, the first and second grade students were excited to share all of their hard work. Mrs. Goodwin brought in a holiday light projector, we pulled down the window shades, draped dark colored table cloths over shelves, and arranged a path through the classroom from the Sun at the entrance all the way through the inner planets, asteroid belt, and then outer planets. Our classroom was an astronomical sight to see! Walden students across all grades from PreK through 8th grade entered through the yellow bright streamers of the Sun and learned about each planet on a walking tour. Each child was excited and thrilled to talk about and answer questions about their own planet of study. It was quite an adventure and a classroom event to remember!
