From the tiniest acorn, grows the mightiest oak.One Fall Friday afternoon, Room 203 went into the Walden school yard looking for trees! As a part of our Tree Science Unit, students were introduced to the inner and outer parts of a tree. We searched the school yard for four specific trees: Maple, Walnut, Oak and White Pine. With just a piece of paper and colorful rubbing crayons, students "traced" the bark patterns for each tree and then continued on to find other trees. Similar to the element of movement on our trip to Rose Tree Park Story Walk, students were able to move at their own pace from tree to tree, incorporating exercise into a fun science experiment!
